Wood floors

The floors are going in quickly. The installation process for eight inch wide planks is a little bit different from the standard 2" to 3" planks. With the narrow planks the boards are tongue and groove and they are stapled to the sub floor with very heavy duty staples from and air hammer. There is a big staple every few inches along the female side of the board. With wide boards a staple is not enough to hold the plank down under normal expansions and contractions throughout the seasonal changes in temperature and moisture. For wide boards they actually use a glue along with the staples. Here are some photos of the process.
