Finishing the deck

Update
OK So where are we in the progress of building this house?
We moved in ten days ago. Since then we have had numerous contractors finish off small details and we still have several to go. For example, the stove exhaust fan is not connected and we need a lot of touch up paint. Today the automation guys were here to finish the alarm system and the central vacuum. We still seem to have more dust than we ever imagined but it comes with all the boxes. The vast majority of our household goods were in storage for almost four years so the boxes were dusty. It was like Christmas to see all of our "stuff" that we collected living all over the world. We posted a photo of our rocking horse and I can assure you that we all missed "Copper".
We have collected quite a bit of artwork over the years and lots of stuff from the Air Force also. If I decided where to put the stuff it would ruin the house, so Kim is patiently waiting for me to go back to work so she can decide where to hang all the stuff. This is a very good thing and we learned it the hard way over the years. Trust me, she is good at it and I am not.
It snowed again today and the ski resort has accumulated 442" of snow this year. This means that the landscaping is still on hold. We are drawing up plans for a xeri scape front yard, which essentially means low water (desert) type landscape. The back yard will be prairie grass. Hopefully the prairie grass will NEVER require any work. Yeah right.
Progress appears slow but living in the house makes up for the lack of progress. We are still getting used to where the kitchen items are located but so far our plan is working as we envisioned. This is the first time that we have ever had a real walk in closet in the master bath and we love the way it works. The steam shower is getting a workout and we have done a thousand loads of laundry! So far, we are thrilled and love this place.

The best picture (heh heh)
Today it is snowing and the house will be filled with workers finishing small jobs. The second TV will be installed. The baseboard will be installed surrounding the big beams (we waited until the floor was done). The electrician still has to put in some light switches and install plugs in the kitchen island. The central vacuum motor and trim work will get done. The plumber has to tweak some things.
The basement is completely finished and spotless. With the new carpet the noise level is quiet and it looks simply gorgeous. The colors ended up matching just as Kim wanted, remember I have NO clue about these things.
The rest of the exterior stone is "supposed" to arrive today and will take ten days to complete. Once the stone work is complete we can order the deck railing, wait three weeks and then install it. It appears that the railing will be installed in about a month. The stairs and landing from the deck down to the western side of the house will be started next week. We still need to pour a concrete footing for the steps and we decided to wait until the weather improves. NOTE: Snow basin ski resort has received 425" of snow this year, a record, so we are still digging out from winter.
TOMORROW: Final inspection from the county. Once complete we will receive an occupancy permit. We will move about two thousand pounds of furniture that we have stored locally into the house. Friday and Saturday our household goods will be delivered. They have been in storage for three years so Christmas will come early this week.
I should be able to watch the Masters golf tournament this weekend at the new house.
